Queues of traffic are stretching for miles in Armagh around this afternoon (Saturday).
Motorists coming into the city, and trying to manoeuvre around the centre, are enduring nightmare waits.
There are reports of people queuing for 45 minutes to get from one end to the town to the other.
The delay appears to be stemming from the temporary lights in place at various locations in the city because of Virgin Media works being carried, including the Shambles area.
The company are also carrying out work on the Newry Road, from the Friary Road junction to Folly Lane junction, as well as the A3 Monaghan Road, from Keady Road junction to Umgola Heights junction.
The build up of traffic coming off the Moy Road, at the Loughgall Road junction, appears to be the worst affected.
One motorist, speaking to Armagh I, likened it to New York.
“If there was ever evidence for the need for link roads, this today would be it. It’s been bad for a while but this is outrageous,” he said.
“There’s a pandemic; we’re still technically in lockdown and somehow Armagh finds itself gridlocked and looking like Manhattan for traffic.”
