Police were called to a report of a drug dealer operating outside a college in Armagh last Thursday morning.
The alleged incident happened close to the bus station and Southern Regional College on Lonsdale Road in Armagh.
Police were called to the area around 10.15am.
Inspector Gary Moore said: “Police in Armagh received a report of suspected drugs being offered in the Lonsdale Road area at approximately 10.15am on Thursday.
“Police spoke with a number of youths believed to be involved and advised them of the dangers of drugs.”
No drugs were recovered on this occasion.
The PSNI across the Borough have been pro-actively running ‘Operation Snapper’ which they say is aimed at “safeguarding young people and preventing anti-social behaviour”.
Over the last number of months they have recovered significant amounts of Class A, B and C drugs, including many prescription drugs – considered deadlier than heroin.
Speaking on the matter earlier in the summer, Chief Inspector Jon Burrows said: “Police officers all too often see the tragic impact of underage drinking and drug taking, the harm and suffering caused to families and communities.
“We were glad to be on the front foot, intervening before the anti social behaviour or the distress calls began.”
