Police have confirmed that the woman who died following a road traffic collision in Armagh on Friday morning was renowned traditional music educator and Armagh Pipers Club Director of Music, Eithne Vallely.
Mrs Vallely, who was 81 and from the Armagh area, died at the scene of the incident on the Portadown Road on Friday, August 21.

Detective Inspector Stewart, from the PSNI’s Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We received a report at approximately 8.20am on Friday, 21st August of a single-vehicle collision involving a lorry and a female pedestrian in the Portadown Road area.
“Officers attended, alongside colleagues from other emergency services. Medical treatment was provided to the pedestrian, however, she was pronounced deceased at the scene.
“The Portadown Road, which was closed for a time, has now fully reopened.”
The investigation into the collision is ongoing and police have issued an appeal for information.
