‘Rare’ Gun Salute at Royal School Armagh to mark King’s Accession to throne

Today, the Royal School Armagh hosted a gun salute to mark the King’s Accession to the throne.

The event took place on the school rugby pitch with a piper leading dignitaries down to the ceremonial introduction before the gun crews took position.

An immaculate display began with 3, 105 millimetre pipe guns, which were fired at 12 noon exactly by Oklahoma National Guards and 206 (Ulster) Battery, Royal Artillery.

The pitch was lined with Royal School Armagh pupils and beyond the school grounds, members of the public gathered to catch a glimpse of this truly rare event.
