
A “remarkable” centenarian was honoured by members of the County Armagh Grand Orange Lodge on his landmark birthday for a “life time service to Orangeism”.
The 100th birthday celebrations were held for Worshipful Brother, George Lutton – whose actual birthday is October 17 – the following day at the Armagh Old Boys Band Hall.
Sharing their delight at being invited to the very special event, County Armagh Grand Orange Lodge said: “The County Grand Master and County Grand Secretary were honoured to be invited to the 100th birthday celebration for Wor Bro George Lutton.
“George is a truly remarkable centenarian being a member of the Institution for over 84 years, firstly as a member of Armagh True Blues LOL 109, and after it went dormant, transferring to Royal Standard LOL 347.”
George was presented with “specially commissioned certificates” by Rt Wor Bro Denis Watson, County Grand Master alongside his Lodge Officers, Armagh District Officers and the County Officers.
The sealed and signed certificate read: “On the occasion of your 100th Birthday.
“On the 17th October 2025 you mark an extraordinary milestone – your 100th Birthday. May this celebration be an especially joyful reminder of a century of living life right and a happy addition to find memories of birthdays past.”
