Scaffolding has started to go up at Danske Bank’s listed building on Scotch Street in Armagh as work begins to restore its exterior.
The branch will remain open for customers throughout the work, which is expected to take several weeks.
The project includes painting and plastering and essential chimney and roof repairs.
The building’s original cast-iron guttering and metal railings will also be restored.
Manager of Danske Bank’s Armagh branch Jennifer Bicker, said: “I’m pleased to reassure customers that while the work is taking place we’re still here to welcome them with the same friendly, local service they know and value. This is an important investment in our beautiful branch building and reinforces our commitment to our customers and the Armagh community. It will help preserve the character of this historic building for years to come.”
The building is also home to Danske Bank’s local business and private banking managers, who work closely with the branch to support local personal and business customers.
