A newly established Darts Academy has received high praise for its rapid growth and continued success as two of its members qualified to represent Northern Ireland at the esteemed Europe Cup in the Netherlands.
Lord Mayor Alderman Stephen Moutray recently welcomed members of the County Armagh Darts Academy to Craigavon Civic Centre, to issue the well deserved praise.
Special recognition was given to Ruth Bell and Sam Graham, who have been selected to represent Northern Ireland at the 2025 Europe Cup in Assen, Holland.
The Lord Mayor extended his warmest congratulations and best wishes to both players, describing their achievement as “a tremendous honour not only for themselves but also for the entire borough.”
Founded in January 2024, the County Armagh Darts Academy has seen remarkable growth in just a few short months, with a number of emerging talents already gaining recognition at a national level.
The Lord Mayor commended the academy’s dedication to youth development and sporting excellence.
“This academy is a shining example of what passion, hard work, and community support can achieve in such a short space of time,” he said.
Also present was local MLA Jonathan Buckley, who expressed his appreciation to those behind the Academy’s success: “I want to pay tribute to the organisers, coaches, and the parents whose commitment and encouragement are driving this fantastic initiative forward.
£Their support is vital to the development of young talent, and it’s wonderful to see these efforts being recognised at such a high level.”
