A serving soldier, who is accused of rape, is set to face Crown Court proceedings later this year.
The 28-year-old did not appear as his case was listed at Armagh Magistrates’ Court, sitting at Newry, on Tuesday.
Robert Politi, whose address was given as c/o Thiepval Barracks in Lisburn, faces a single charge of rape.
None of the facts in the case were heard, but the particulars allege that the offence occurred on June 21, of last year.
Updating the court, prosecution stated a date for a preliminary enquiry (PE), the legal process during which a case is referred to the higher court, of May 4.
Defence barrister Richard McLean suggested a review date of April 20 to ensure papers had been received.
Deputy District Judge Philip Mateer adjourned the case until May 4 for a preliminary enquiry, with a review on April 20.
