A new chief executive is due to take over the reins of the Southern Health Trust from next week.
Shane Devlin – who has headed up the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service since 2016 – will take over from Tuesday, March 19.
Trust chairperson Roberta Brownlee said she was delighted to welcome Mr Devlin, who lives locally to “this important role”.
“He brings significant strategic health and social care experience, having worked across the service since 1998 in a wide range of operational and management posts,” she said.
“I am greatly looking forward to working with him and have every confidence that Shane will be an excellent appointment for this Trust, its staff, and for the people we serve.”
Mr Devlin’s first day in the office will be Tuesday, but over the next few weeks he will be focusing on meeting staff working in the wide range of services delivered across the entire Trust area.
