A popular Armagh city, fine dining and seafood grill establishment is gearing up to add some ‘spice’ to your lunch hour!
Spice Lounge was started by Alamgir Hussain, back in 2019, who before opening worked within premium Indian eateries across Northern Ireland.
Located in the heart of Armagh City, right on the shambles corner on Lower English Street, the establishment offer homemade, authentic Indian cuisine served in a cozy and comfortable atmosphere.
A family-run business, the team at Spice Lounge want every customer to feel relaxed and at home, with quality customer service a top priority! They also support the community that supports them by contributing to different societies both publicly and privately with their goal to always give back in anyway they can.
Initially opening as a sit-down restaurant, the popular eatery then added a separate takeaway unit to accommodate growing demand.
Over the years, the business has grew from strength to strength and Alamgir is excited to announce that they will be back open 7 days a week and are also introducing a lunch service.
Spice Lounge had previously opened 7 days a week but began closing on Wednesdays just three months ago. But since closing one day a week, Alamgir said the demand to open all week again has been ‘unreal’.

“The last few months we have been closed on Wedensdays to give myself a break as I was working seven days a week. But the demand for us to open all week again has been unreal so we are listening to what the customers want. My family play a key role in the business with all my brothers helping out and especially my brother Noor who has stepped in to allow me to get a day off which has been a great help.
“I’ve also decided to open up at lunch time due to clientele request.
“Lots of people have said to me that it’s such a shame to have such a nice building in the centre of the town closed during the day. So we have decided to give it a go and hope that the public come out and support us during our new hours”.
Spice Lounge will be open for lunch from 12-2pm on Saturday and Sunday and reopen from 5pm-11pm for evening service. Sunday evening service will be from 5pm-10pm.
Takeout is also available both during the day and evening. Spice Lounge also offer delivery in the Armagh area to your home or office space but must be pre-ordered at least one day before.
Alamgir is keeping his prices as affordable as possible as he understands how financially difficult times are for people.
“At the moment it is not easy to own a business because it’s so costly. With bill costs, production and wages.
“I understand how difficult it is too to eat out as it is a luxury. So I’m trying to keep my prices as affordable to make it as accessible as possible to members of the public.”
The menu will be varied and include popular European lunch dishes as well as Indian Thali (£10.95) which will change each week with a range of side dishes also available.
The classic staple in every restaurant – Chicken goujons and chips will also be available for £10.95.
The kids menu is priced at £6.95 and you can choose from nuggets or goujons with chips.
And if you just want something light, they will also have scones available and a range of different tea, coffee and soft drink options.
With the future in mind, Spice Lounge have also opened their calendar for Christmas parties with early booking recommended to avoid disappointment!
“I would also like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported Spice Lounge since I opened. A big thanks also to the lady customers who come in and support the business and to all the men too. feels like home
