SRC & ABC Council welcome hundreds of visitors to careers fair at Armagh Campus

Southern Regional College, in conjunction with Armagh City, Banbridge & Craigavon Borough Council and the ABC Labour Market Partnership, recently held an Open Campus and Careers Fair at the College’s Armagh campus.

Lord Mayor Paul Greenfield attended the event and spoke with many of the local employers in attendance alongside hundreds of visitors who came out on a busy bank holiday weekend.

Southern Regional College was delighted to collaborate with Council and the ABC Labour Market Partnership to connect attendees with a diverse range of local employers promoting the range of job opportunities available within their organisations.

Speaking at the event in Armagh, Lord Mayor, Councillor Greenfield said: “It is absolutely fantastic to be able to support the SRC Careers Fair today and help connect local people with local training and employment pathways. ABC Council and the Labour Market Partnership are delighted to collaborate with SRC and local employers to help provide this practical support and showcase the vast array of fantastic opportunities available locally.”

The Lord Mayor of ABC, Councillor Paul Greenfield with a representative from Armagh City Hotel who took an exhibition space at the recent Careers Fair at Southern Regional College.

Employers attending included, Action Mental Health, Almac, Armagh City Hotel, BT, Disability Action & Workable, Gibson Brothers Banbridge, Home Bargains, Home Instead Banbridge, Industrial Temps, JM McAllister & Co/Mooney Matthews, Joseph Flanigan & Son Ltd, Kingspan Water & Energy, Manpower UK, McElmeel Mobility Services, Moy Park, NI Fire Service, Sean Cavanagh & Co Ltd, Viberoptix and Youth Action.

These events followed the release of A-Level and GCSE results and aimed to provide individuals with advice and guidance on their next step, offering the opportunity to speak with the College’s expert staff about courses and career options as well as employers about full-time and part-time employment. The College also hosted similar events on their Newry & Portadown campuses providing information on financial assistance, learning support and other pastoral services available at the College.

Attendees enjoyed tours of the Armagh, Newry West and Portadown Campuses, which showcased the state-of-the-art facilities SRC has to offer.
