Harvey Trees and Shrubs is a family-run business headed by husband and wife duo James and Linda Harvey with help from their children Molly and James JR, who is currently studying Quantity Surveying at Ulster University to help enhance the landscaping business in the future.

James, who came from a landscaping background, has worked in the industry for over 25 years before deciding to go out on his own. After a few years of being self-employed, he opened Harvey’s first location on the Battlehill Road in 2015, to help accommodate the growing demand.

After the success of their nursery on the Battlehill Road, it was March 2025, when James and Linda decided it was time to grow their business and dreams further with relocation to a new site just a few minutes down the road.

For Christmas, the Garden Centre has a range of door wreaths, centre pieces, holly wreaths all made in-house. With a a large selection of Christmas trees also available.

Harveys Shrubs and Tree’s is now located on Portadown Road, and along with the opening of the new Nursery and Gift Shop, Linda also got her dream of opening her own café!

Linda said:’ “I have always worked in catering and retail but always dreamed of having my own coffee shop – but it had to be a glamourous one. Even with experience, I never realised how much there is still to learn when you go out on your own but I am just so thankful that we have been so busy and well supported from we first opened.”

The café offers a variety of teas and coffees along with homemade scones, traybakes, soup, toasted sandwich’s and much more!

Harvey’s Garden Centre, Primrose Café and Shabby Duck Gifts are opened Monday – Saturday 9am-5pm.
