GCSE results at St Catherine’s College in Armagh this year were again excellent for all students with 95 per cent of the 170 strong year group achieved grades A*- C in 5 or more subjects!
Principal, Noeleen Tiffney, commented: “I am delighted with these wonderful results which reflect the hard work of our students, the commitment of their teachers and the support of their parents.”
The outstanding performance of our pupils at GCSE builds on last week’s A-level results which saw a 15% rise in the number of students achieving grades A*- C! This sets the bar high for the new school year.
These excellent results coincide with an exciting new chapter for our Irish Medium school, Sruth na Gaeilge, which has outgrown its original site and is now located in the Barat building, Coláiste Chaitríona.
Commenting on the newly-refurbished building, Deputy Principal, Séamus Mac Dhaibhéid, stated: “Coláiste Chaitríona, as a bilingual school and community hub, is thriving. Irish medium pupils’ progress is excellent and GCSE and A level results this year will be very reassuring to parents who are considering bilingual secondary education for their children.”
