A teenager accused of kidnapping and raping a young woman in Armagh has today (Monday) been denied bail.
Nathan Kidney, 19, of Deringa Road in Dungannon, has been in custody since his arrest last month.
The teenager faces a litany of charges, relating to an alleged incident whereby he kidnapped, raped and repeatedly assaulted his female victim.
They include four sex charges, 27 assaults, 18 motoring offences and single counts of kidnap, false imprisonment and threats to kill.
He denies them all.
The alleged victim was reported missing by her mother on the morning of June 11.
Later that day police spotted, who they believed to have been Kidney, driving along the Gosford Road in Markethill.
According to police officers, a chase ensued, ending up in Armagh city centre, where the offending car was abandoned.
It had collided with a number of other cars along the route.
Following a subsequent search of the city centre area, the defendant was allegedly located pushing the complainant in a shopping trolley.
Bail was refused by the High Court judge who cited a risk of re-offending as her reason to object the application.
