A teenager has been returned for trial in relation to a serious road traffic incident in a car park after being initially cautioned for causing injury with intent by the manner of her driving.

Appearing for a committal hearing was Annabelle Henden (19) from Teeraw Road, Armagh who is charged with causing grievous bodily injury to a female by driving dangerously.

Police previously confirmed a report was received of an incident shortly after 10.15pm on Monday 6 November 2023, in the car park of Southern Regional College at Lonsdale Road, Armagh.

A 19-year-old woman was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries caused to her head and ankle.

Police conducted a number of enquiries and later cautioned a woman for grievous bodily harm with intent by dangerous driving.

A file was subsequently submitted to the Public Prosecution Service on 15 March 2024.

Today (Tuesday) a prosecuting lawyer told Armagh Magistrates Court there is a case to answer which was agreed by District Judge Laura Ievers.

Hendren spoke only to confirm her name and that she understood the charge against her.

She declined to call witnesses or give evidence on her own behalf at this stage in proceedings.

Judge Ievers remanded her on £300 bail to appear for arraignment at Newry Crown Court on 19 September.
