A Richhill teenager who stole over £500 from a local supermarket whilst employed there must wait until next month to learn his fate.
Court heard that the 18-year-old did this within a one-month period and had now paid all the money back.
Matthew Richmond, of Moss Green, pleaded guilty to theft and fraud by abuse of power at Armagh Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.
Court heard that the defendant stole approximately £546.20 from Fruitfield on the Armagh Road between June 11 and July 10 of this year.
He also abused his position by carrying out false price check transactions on the tills with the intention of making a gain or causing the business loss.
Richmond appeared with no record and had made full restitution.
Defence barrister Seamus Lannon stated that the offence was perpetrated whilst the defendant was in part-time employment at the Fruitfield premises.
He added that in this case, he felt a pre-sentence report would be “helpful”.
The case will return for sentencing on December 11 after a report has been compiled.
