Police have charged a number of men after a car contained a substantial quantity of drugs was stopped on the Armagh Road, between Newry and Armagh, on Friday night.
The charges follow an operation by PSNI Organised Crime Unit in Armagh and Coalisland in which more than £70,000 worth of suspected cocaine was seized.
Two men – aged 40 and 62 – were charged with a range of drugs offences including possession of class A drugs, possession of class A drugs with intent to supply, importing class A controlled drug and being concerned in the supply of class A drugs.
A third man, aged 28, was charged with possession of class A drug and possession of a class A drug with intent to supply.
All three are expected to appear at Lisburn Magistrates court tomorrow (Monday) morning.
As is usual procedure the charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
