An Armagh city beauty salon is celebrating 30 years in business this month to the very day!
Cathy’s Beauty Salon on Ogle Street opened their doors for the very first time on March 5, 1996, marking the beginning of what has become an incredible journey for owner Cathy Devlin.
From those early days starting with just three treatment rooms to now operating across three full floors, the growth of the salon reflects years of dedication, passion and commitment to the local community.
Like any business, Cathy has experienced both challenges and successes along the way, but thankfully the highlights have far outweighed the hurdles.
Over the past three decades, Cathy has built a thriving salon grounded in professionalism and care, from a passion that began when she was just sixteen years old!
Her focus has always been on ensuring every client feels genuinely welcome, comfortable and valued, while delivering exceptional treatments to the highest standard. Whether someone is visiting for a relaxing treatment or preparing for a wedding or special event, the aim has always been to create a positive, professional and memorable experience.
Speaking of the anniversary, Cathy said:
“Celebrating 30 years in business is a milestone I am incredibly proud of. Like any successful business, it has never just been about me, it takes a dedicated team to make everything run smoothly.
“Beyond the team, the support from our clients, both here in Armagh and from further afield, has been incredible. It’s their loyalty and trust that truly keeps our doors open and allows us to continue growing.
“I have been truly blessed to be surrounded by wonderful people throughout my career, and that support is the reason I am still here and continuing to grow after three decades.
“From my parents, who helped so much with childcare in the early years, to my amazing husband who has worked tirelessly behind the scenes, I truly could not have done it alone. We are also so lucky to have three wonderful children who support us every step of the way.
“My sister Linda has been my right arm from the very beginning, standing beside me through every stage of this journey. Her loyalty, dedication, and hard work have been such a huge part of our success. I’m also so proud to work alongside my niece Karen, and my dear friends and colleagues Judith and Cliodhna our receptionist .They are all incredibly talented therapists who have been with me for many years.

Two of Cathy’s latest additions are her microneedling and radio frequency treatments.
