Two men stabbed in neck and hand at bar in Co Armagh village

A man has been arrested following a stabbing incident at a bar in county Armagh.

The 48-year-old man is being questioned following the incident in Belleeks in the early hours of this morning.

Detective Constable David Skillen said: “Police were called to a bar on Main Street shortly after midnight following reports that two males had been stabbed.

“Upon arrival officers found that one man had sustained a stab wound to the neck and another had been stabbed in the hand.

“The males, both of whom are 43-years-old, were given first aid by police at the scene before being transferred to hospital.

“Their injuries are not believed to be life threatening at this time.

“The suspect was subsequently arrested on suspicion of a number of offences including attempted murder, grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon.

“He remains in custody at present.”
