Two people have been taken to hospital – with one transported via Air Ambulance – following a serious road traffic collision outside Middletown this morning (November 17).
Fire appliances were called to the scene of a two vehicle accident on the Monaghan Road at 8.14am.
Two appliances from Armagh Fire Station and one appliance from Keady Fire Station attended the incident.
A spokesperson for NIFRS confirmed that one casualty was self-rescued from their vehicle prior to the arrival of Firefighters and left in the care of NIAS.
One casualty was rescued using specialist rescue equipment and was then airlifted to hospital. Firefighters left the scene at 10.20am.
Northern Ireland Ambulance Service despatched two Emergency Ambulances, an Emergency Paramedic Officer.
The Charity Air Ambulance with HEMS on board, were also tasked to the incident.
One person was taken to Craigavon Area Hospital by Ambulance and another patient was taken to Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast by Air Ambulance.
