Two people have been taken to hospital – one of them in a serious condition – after road traffic collision at Moy Road in Armagh today (Friday).
The Air Ambulance and Northern Ireland Ambulance Service attended the scene, while the PSNI closed the road, putting diversions in place.
The collision involved a car and a lorry and happened at the junction of Grange Blundel Road.
A spokesperson for NI Fire and Rescue Service told Armagh I : “The driver of the lorry was out on arrival.
“Firefighters rescued the driver of the car using specialist equipment and she was left in the care of the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service. Firefighters left the incident at 1.49pm.”
A ‘999’ call had also been logged with NI Ambulance Service at 12.31pm following reports of the collision.
A spokesperson told Armagh I : “NIAS despatched two emergency crews, an ambulance officer, a paramedic, the Hazardous Area Response Team, and the charity Air Ambulance with HEMS on board were also tasked to the incident.
“Following assessment and initial treatment at the scene, one patient was taken to Craigavon Area Hospital by ambulance and another patient was taken to Royal Victoria Hospital by ambulance.”
1 Fire Appliance from Armagh Fire Station and 1 Fire Appliance from Dungannon Fire Station attended the incident.
