An Armagh city charity shop is relocating back to its original roots at the end of the month.
Vincent’s on Armagh’s Thomas Street is relocating to Ogle Street at the end of September.
The new SVP shop will be open for business straightaway ensuring there is continuity of service for local people in the city.
Anne Crossan, regional retail services manager for SVP, explains: “We are going back to our roots in Armagh as Ogle Street was the home of our original Vincent’s shop in the city many years ago.
“Our new premises are at numbers 19 – 21 and, while the unit is more compact than the current shop, there will still be plenty of room for a fantastic range of clothing and bric-a- brac.
“Our wonderful volunteers are excellent at displaying the fabulous pre-loved items that are donated by the generous people of Armagh.
“We are extremely grateful to everyone who kindly takes the time to pack and pass on their items to us and we are welcoming donations at the Thomas Street location right until the end of September before we start to take them in at our new Ogle Street shop.
“We realise that there may be some queries during this transition period so please do get in touch on 07733 482604 if you have any questions regarding Vincent’s in Armagh.”
SVP is a volunteer-led organisation and teams work tirelessly, 365 days a year, to provide assistance to all sections of the community across Northern Ireland.
Vincent’s is the retail arm of the charity, raising vital funds that enable SVP to carry out its wide range of services and support activities across Northern Ireland.
Through Conferences (groups), SVP works with those in need, irrespective of creed, ethnic or social backgrounds, health, gender or political opinions, in local areas.
Around 1,800 SVP volunteers carry out activities for the charity, including paying weekly visits to around 2,500 people and run crèches, breakfast clubs and the network of 32 Vincent’s shops across the province.
Anne continues: “This is an exciting time for our shop team, which is staffed by our dedicated volunteers who give up their time to support SVP’s work. We feel so welcome in each of our communities and are continually overwhelmed by the generosity of local people.
