Motorists are being asked to exercise extreme caution after reports of a diesel spill in the Middletown area.
A large area of road stretching from the Armagh side of the village as far as the border and beyond has been affected.
One motorist contacted Armagh I to warn people to slow down and be prepared for the conditions.
He said: “I noticed it just before Hughes pub and it’s right through the village the whole way up to Silverstream filling station at the border.
“It’s a really bad spill by the looks of it.
“It was very visible because of the road being wet.”
The road is always extremely busy and drivers are being urged to slow down, particularly with further rain forecast overnight which will only make driving conditions more difficult.
