Watch: Car set alight dangerously close to nearby homes in Moy

This is the moment a car is set a light by suspected arsonists in Moy.

Footage taken from a nearby property shows the extent of the blaze, just yards from other properties.

And at one point a mini explosion shows flames shooting from the car and landing in a garden close-by.

Police are today (Thursday) appealing for witnesses following the report of a vehicle on fire in the Oakfield Gardens area of Moy during the early hours of this morning.

Sergeant Jeff Young said: “This incident in the Oakfield Gardens area was reported to us at 12.55am. Officers, along with colleagues from NIFRS attended and the blaze was extinguished.

“The vehicle was completely burned out. We are currently treating this as arson.

“Anyone who has information about what happened, or who saw suspicious activity in the area in the run up to the incident this morning, should contact us on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 50 of 25/04/19.”

Alternatively, information can also be provide to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.
