Watch: ‘Fawn-tastic’ spectacle as sociable deer goes crazy with Daisy at Gosford!

Deer at Gosford Forest Park

When Daisy sets out looking for new friends she has a firm i-deer what she’s looking for!

A pointer cross, the fun-loving pooch was living her best life in Gosford at the weekend when she bagged a new best bud.

And what a fawn-tastic sight it was!

Owner Lesley Shephard had been bringing Daisy along to Gosford for puppy obedience classes each Sunday in March.

The Armagh woman – who got Daisy, a rescue dog, from Animal Haven in County Kerry – could scarcely believe her eyes.

She was, you could say, stag-gerred by the antler-ics!

“Daisy”s absolutely nuts, bonkers, wild,” laughed Lesley. “We go to Gosford most Sundays to the dog pen and she just picked up a friend on Sunday past.”

Daisy, who will turn one at the end of May, was one of a litter of three girls and was adopted by Lesley last September.

To say she has bundles of energy is putting it mildly, for there she was running around like a right ‘buck’ ejit!

“There’s a group of deer in the field beside the dog pen, but that one deer, while the rest were looking at them, it looked like they were playing, just running up and down,” said Lesley.

“The deer wasn’t scared or anything. I wouldn’t allow that, but for a good 15 minutes, while me and my partner were sitting having a coffee in the dog pen, those two just ran up and down.”

Thrilled by such a deer-lightful spectacle, Lesley added: “She’s always up at the dog pen in Gosford running about. She’s very mischievous. She’s full of energy.

“I don’t think many people are aware actually that there is a dog pen in Gosford. Daisy’s a very social dog. She loves playing with other dogs. It sounds silly, but it’d be nice to get her some friends.”

After Sunday, it sure looks as if Daisy has a new BFF who absolutely a-doe-res her!
