This is the moment a man brazenly walks out of an Armagh supermarket carrying a basket full of unpaid groceries.
The suspected thief was caught on CCTV cameras leaving Mullan’s Spar on the Monaghan Road shortly before 6pm on Monday evening.
The unidentified man walks out the store before making off in the direction of the Monaghan Road, with basket in hand.
The shop’s owners were alerted by an eagle-eyed customer who gave chase before losing the man in the dark of night.
Police have been alerted to the incident.
A PSNI spokesperson confirmed to Armagh I this evening that they are looking into it.
“Police have received the report of a theft from a shop at Monaghan Road in Armagh yesterday,” said the spokesperson.
“Enquiries into this incident are ongoing.”
Owner Donna Mullan has appealed to the public for help in tracing this man.
“A customer brought it to our attention and it the customer who ran after the man but by the time we went to look the man had disappeared,” she said.
