The Met Office has issued a weather warning for severe thunderstorms today (Sunday).
The yellow warning takes effect from 1pm today.
Temperatures will be into the 20s.
But forecasters say there is the chance for flooding of homes and businesses with heavy and sporadic rain, lighting strikes, possible hail stones or strong winds.
There is the potential too for power cuts and loss to other local services, according to Met Office.
Road conditions could become dangerous due to spray and surface water.
The weather warning is in place until 9pm on Sunday.
Further lightning and high temperatures are expected over the next number of days.
