Armagh fundraising champion Willie Nugent’s latest book has sold out in record time – and charity is the big winner again!
‘Yarns My Father Told Me Back in Old Gas Lane’ was only launched a few weeks ago.
It recounted tales told by Willie’s late father Patrick.
At £5 a copy, it proved a great hit, so much so that all have now been sold.
Now Willie would like to thank everyone who bought the book and helped to raise £500, which has now been handed over to the Friends of the Cancer Centre at Belfast City Hospital.
He would also like to thank Dessie’s, the Gazette shop, Raffles, Trimprint and Curran’s Spar for selling his book.
Said Willie: “I would like to add a special word of thanks to Armagh I, Trimprint Limited and the Ulster Gazette for all their help and support.”
And now, with that latest fundraising effort over, surely it’s time to take a little breather?
Well, of course not, it’s not in his nature when there’s charities to support.
“There’s no time for resting,” he laughs. “I’m busy getting my Christmas Book ready and it should be in the shops by the middle of November!”
As they say, watch this space!
