Temperatures are set to plummet as a winter chill sweeps across Co Armagh later this week.
Despite moderate temperatures in recent days, heavy rain on Wednesday will signal the beginning of the big freeze.
Temperatures will dip rapidly going into Thursday and hit sub-zero on Friday and Saturday mornings.
Met Eireann meteorologist Vincent O’Neill said: “On Wednesday night there’s going to be heavy rain, and when it clears there will be a notable change in temperatures.
“A much colder air mass will then take charge from Thursday morning.
“It will be very cold and get progressively colder coming into Friday.”
While Co Armagh is expected to see minus 1 one the thermostats, other parts of Northern Ireland will go as low as minus 3.
