Witnesses sought to crash which leaves young woman critical in hospital

Police are appealing for witnesses following an road collision which has left a young woman in critical condition in hospital.

The incident happened on the Moy Road outside Armagh City during the early hours of this morning (Thursday).

The collision, involving a white coloured Mercedes Sport, occurred close to the Ballygassoon Road junction and was reported to police at around 2.30am.

The female driver, aged in her 20s, was taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast for treatment for her injuries.

Her condition is described as critical.

Inspector Graham is appealing for anyone who was travelling on the Moy Road late last night or early this morning and who observed the white Mercedes or anyone who witnessed the collision to contact officers in Armagh or the Collision Investigation Unit on 101, quoting reference 120 15/02/18.

The Moy Road has since reopened to traffic in both directions.
