A woman has been arrested in connection with the investigation into the murder of 21-year-old Katie Simpson last August.
Detectives from the Major Investigation Team arrested the 39-year-old on suspicion of a number of offences including assisting offenders, attempting to pervert the course of justice and withholding information.
The arrest follows an ongoing investigation into the murder of Miss Simpson who died at Altnagelvin Hospital on August 9th 2020, following an incident at an address in Gortnessy Meadows, Derry/Londonderry.
The woman is currently in police custody assisting with enquiries.
Jonathan James Creswell from Briar Hill Gardens, Greysteel is currently charged with murdering the 21-year-old from Middletown.
