Police are appealing for information following the report of a burglary at an address in the Grove Hill area of Banbridge at the weekend.
Constable Sharkey said: “We received a report just after 8:10pm on Saturday, February 16, that earlier in the evening, around 7.40pm, entry had been forced to a house, and a female occupant was awoken by a male intruder at her bedroom door. When disturbed, the intruder fled from the property.
“The woman was not injured, however, she has been left shaken by the incident. Nothing is believed to have been taken, however, damage was caused to a window at the property.
“I want to appeal to anyone who was in the Grove Hill area last night, around 7:40pm and saw any suspicious activity, or who has information which may assist our investigation to call us on the non emergency number 101, quoting reference 1275 of 16/02/19.”
Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.”
Meanwhile in Armagh, police are appealing for witnesses after two homes had windows smashed late last night (Tuesday).
The incident happened in the Edenaveys Crescent area of the city shortly before midnight.
A PSNI spokesperson said: “We’re currently investigating an incident of criminal damage which occurred in Edenaveys Crescent, Armagh at around 11:30pm yesterday, at which time the rear windows of two neighbouring properties were damaged by stones thrown.
“If you have any information or witnessed anything suspicious, please call 101 and quote 1429 of 19/02/19.”
