Three young girls were approached by an adult male in an Armagh city play park on Tuesday night.
According to one parent, the male was filming on his phone, and pointing it in the direction of the girls who were aged between 9 and 12-years-old.
SDLP councillor raised the issue after being contacted by a number of parents on Tuesday evening.
He said the incident has been reported to police.
It is understood police carried out patrols in the area last night.
“The girls were wise and went to a neighbouring property which they knew and their parents were contacted,” said councillor O’Hanlon.
“These girls did absolutely nothing wrong. When the girls ran off he scarpered.
“The play park, as you would expect was busy with young children enjoying the bight summer evening. These children did absolutely nothing wrong.”
Councillor O’Hanlon says he will be speaking to the police on the issue this morning.
He concluded: “Please be vigilant! Know where your children are at all times! Please also remind them of the old ‘Stranger Danger Message.’ And above all else, if they get approached by anyone they don’t know in circumstances like this, make plenty of noise and run for help.”
Armagh I has contacted police for comment.
