Retail giant Asda have rubbished local media claims that they are to open a new store in Armagh.
There had been speculation circulating this evening that an announcement by Asda might be imminent.
The retail chain, which has other outlets at Portadown and Cookstown, among others, had previously been linked to the former Drumadd Army Barracks site in Armagh.
But Asda later withdrew its interest.
According to the retailer, that situation has not changed.
A spokesperson for Asda told Armagh I: “We have no plans for a store in Armagh and this must just be a rumour.”
