Assault by four-man gang treated as racist hate crime

Detectives in Armagh are appealing for information after a report of an assault – which is being treated as a racist hate crime – in the Granemore  Road, area of Keady on Monday, June 16.
At around 11pm, it was reported that a man in  his 40s was assaulted by around four males in the area. He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment to facial and body injuries that are not believed to be  serious.
At this stage, police are treating this incident as a racist hate crime. Enquiries are  continuing.
Police would ask anyone who witnessed this incident or who  has any information to contact CID in Armagh on the non-emergency number 101 quoting reference 1165190614. Or, if  someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they  can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously  on 0800 555 111.
