The man who led Titanic Belfast from its inception to one of the world’s leading tourist attractions has now been appointed as the new chief executive of Gilford Castle Estate.
A seasoned leader in the tourism and leisure sectors, Mr Husbands joins the estate following an intensive refurbishment programme in excess of £20 million.
The major investment has reimagined the Victorian Scottish Baronial residence as Northern Ireland’s premier bespoke venue for corporate events, weddings and high-end celebrations.
Mr Husbands brings a formidable track record of success to the role.
As well as his leadership of Titanic Belfast, his extensive portfolio also includes tenures as CEO of Leopardstown Racecourse and the Waterfront Hall and Ulster Hall in Belfast.
Originally from Nottingham, his return to Northern Ireland marks a significant homecoming for a leader synonymous with the region’s most iconic landmarks.
The multi-million-pound restoration has breathed new life into Gilford Castle, meticulously preserving its dramatic architectural heritage.
The reception rooms and bedrooms have been restored to reflect their original internal grandeur, offering a stunning, immersive experience for guests seeking an unforgettable “big day” or an elite corporate retreat.
