Disgusting graffiti of a highly sexual nature has been plastered all over pre-school children’s play equipment in a local park.
The culprits targeted a playhouse in Solitude Park in Banbridge today (Tuesday).
Black marker pens have been used to deface the facility – which is used by children under the age of five – with crude and vulgar language, descriptions and depictions of genitalia.
The sight was discovered by one local woman – at around 4pm today – and she branded it “a disgrace”.
“What is wrong with people?” she fumed.
The incident has led to calls for increased security in the area in order to prevent this type of behaviour, with one calling for a “full-time warden”, more police and CCTV to be installed.
One mum, when the image was shared on social media, said she had stopped bringing her child to this park because of older youths congregating in the area and taking over, with an anti-social element meaning the younger ones are unable to use or enjoy the facilities.
Ulster Unionist Councillor Glenn Barr has tonight reported the incident to Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council officials for appropriate “clean up” action to be taken.
