A man accused of breaching a Violent Offences Prevention Order will face Crown Court proceedings.
It was heard that the 34-year-old was allegedly found intoxicated and not living at his approved address which were conditions of the order.
Thomas Pearce, of Ventry Lane in Belfast, appeared charged with breach of the Violent Offence Prevention Order (VOPO) at Craigavon Magistrates’, sitting at Lisburn, on Friday.
The particulars alleged that on April 10, at Rathfriland Road, Banbridge, the defendant, whilst being subject to a VOPO without reasonable excuse was intoxicated and not residing at his approved address, acts which he was prohibited from doing.
Appearing at the court via videolink from Maghaberry, Pearce made no objection to the holding of a preliminary enquiry.
Prosecution submitted that based on the papers before the court there was a prima facie case to answer.
Defence barrister Bobbie Rea made no contrary submissions.
District Judge Nigel Broderick remanded the defendant in custody to appear before Newry Crown Court on a date to be fixed.
