Despicable thieves have targeted a grave in County Down.
Police have appealed for information after an urn – containing ashes – was stolen.
It happened at a cemetery in the Drumlough Road area of Rathfriland.
Police believe the incident happened sometime overnight between Thursday, June 16 and Friday, June 17.
The theft has only recently come to light and police want to speak to anyone who may be able to help.
Sergeant Steven Lawson has appealed to anyone who has any information about this incident to contact police at Newry on the non-emergency number 101.
Alternatively, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.
