Police are investigating reports of the theft of a number of cattle in Ballyward, near Banbridge.
A spokesperson for the PSNI said that a padlock had been cut off the gate and entry gained to an outhouse. Seven Fresian cattle were afterwards discovered to be missing. They are red and white, and black and white, in colour.
The theft occurred in the Drumgooland Road area sometime between 10am on Monday, August 7 and 6:30am on Tuesday, August 8.
The police spokesperson added: “Police enquiries are ongoing, and anyone who was in the area at the time, and noticed any suspicious activity, is asked to get in touch.
“The number to call is 101, quoting reference number 388 of 09/08/23. Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
