Motorists are being warned of a huge oil spillage stretching for miles between Banbridge and Rathfriland.
A huge amount of oil has been discharge on the main road between the two towns, via Annaclone.
Road service are currently attempting to clean the mess this evening but there are reports it stretches for a number of miles.
One road user who came through it a number of hours ago described it as an “absolute nightmare” as she drove through it at 30mph.
It remains unclear how long it will take to clear but motorists are advised to avoid the area this evening.
The road will become harder to see as darkness falls.
There are no further details at this stage.
