Search and rescue teams are continuing their search for a pensioner who went missing 17 days ago in Dromore.
A large-scale operation was launched on the evening of January 20 after reports were received that an elderly man entered the River Lagan.
The missing man is understood to be 75-year-old, Archie Boal.
Police say he was last seen in the Brewery Lane area of Dromore on Tuesday afternoon, January 20.
Search efforts have largely been focused on the stretch of river running from Bridge Street, through Dromore Park and out towards the Dromore Community Centre and even continued throughout the duration of Storm Chandra which brought with it the added difficulty of severe flooding and rising waterways.
On Thursday (February 5), Tyrone Underwater Search and Recovery released an update to say that searches for Mr Boal were ongoing, but sadly, without success.
They added: “We remain committed to helping bring Archie home to his loved ones in the coming days. Thank you to the local community for all the help and support you have provided.”
If you have any information in relation to Mr Boal’s whereabouts or you believe you may have seen him, please contact police immediately on 101, or 999 in an emergency, quoting reference number 798 20/01/26.
