Tributes have been paid right across Northern Ireland to a Radio Ulster favourite who died tragically in a house fire yesterday afternoon.
Geordie Tuft lost his life in a blaze at his home in Loughbrickland, on the outskirts of Banbridge.
A well-known farmer in the area, Geordie was a regular caller to the late Gerry Anderson’s BBC radio show and went on bus trips with the broadcaster.
Today, those that knew and listened to him have paid tribute.
Actor Tim McGarry, said: “Och, very sorry to hear #GeordieTuft has passed away. He was one of the people who helped make Gerry Anderson a genius on BBC Radio Ulster.”
Broadcaster Stephen Nolan said: “Geordie Tuft made me laugh so much. Laugh out loud so hard that it hurt. I’ll miss him from the airwaves.”
