A local representative is calling for a road safety assessment to be carried out after two cars left a dangerously sharp bend in a Dromore road within three hours of each other.
DUP Alderman for the Lagan Valley area, Paul Rankin said he has requested for the Department for Infrastructure to carry out the safety assessment on the Lower Quilly Road.
He had been alerted to a road traffic incident on Friday morning (March 13) that has occurred on the evening before.
Explaining the need for the review, the Alderman said: “Two cars left the road at the same sharp bend within the space of three hours, on Thursday evening 12th March.
“I don’t know the circumstances and there seems to be police tape at the scene. Hope that nobody was seriously injured.”
Confirming the timeline of the incidents, a police spokesperson said: “The first collision was reported at 7.10pm on Thursday and the second at 12.20am on Friday morning.”
Thankfully, policed confirmed that there were no reports of injury.
