Detectives from the Police Service’s Organised Crime Branch, supported by HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) made two arrests following searches in the Banbridge area.
Officers conducted a number of searches at properties across the Banbridge area on Thursday, April 4.
A number of items including tens of thousands of cigarettes, high end vehicles, a sum of money, weapons, including a firearm, and ammunition were seized and have been removed for further forensic examination.
Two men, aged 36 and 31, were arrested on suspicion of related offences, including possessing criminal property, and remain in custody at this time, assisting with enquiries as the investigation continues.
Detective Sergeant Conlan said: “Working with our partner agencies, we remain committed in our efforts to bring those who profit from criminality before the courts.
“We rely about combined efforts, including the support of local communities. It’s crucial that any suspected illicit activity is flagged so that action can be taken, and I’m appealing to anyone with information to contact us on 101.”
