Police have made an arrest following a stop and search of a vehicle in Banbridge on Monday evening, October 5.
Detective Inspector McCamley said: “Officers stopped a Nissan Qashqai at around 6.30pm in the Katesbridge Road area. While conducting a search of the vehicle, a quantity of suspected Class A drugs was located and subsequently seized.
“The driver, a 30-year-old woman, was arrested on suspicion of possession of a Class A controlled drug and possession of a Class A controlled drug with intent to supply. She remains in police custody at this time.
“Yesterday’s search and arrest demonstrates our commitment to tackling the harm caused by illegal drug use and supply in our communities.
“Our enquiries are ongoing and I would encourage anyone with information about the supply or use of illegal drugs to contact police on the 101 number.
