Accommodation boost with additional classrooms planned at Bessbrook school

The additional accommodation would boost the school in terms of floorspace by over 2,200 sq ft

St Paul's High School Bessbrook

One of Northern Ireland’s largest secondary schools is to enjoy an accommodation boost.

St Paul’s High School in Bessbrook – which employs close to 200 staff and an enrolment in the region of 1,500 – could benefit from the construction of a new modular classroom unit.

It would provide an additional two classrooms to the school, which is located on the Camlough Road, as well as storage facilities and disabled toilet provision and lobby too.

The additional accommodation would boost the school in terms of floorspace by over 2,200 sq ft.

The new unit would would be located at the rear car park of the school site.

The Education Authority has lodged proposals for the modular unit with Newry, Mourne and Down District Council for consideration.

The plans will be advertised shortly with a decision expected in due course.
