A car has landed on its roof after hitting an electricity pole in Bessbrook.
The high street from the Mill Hill is currently closed with debris spread over a wide area of the road.
Local Sinn Fein Councillor Declan Murphy said at this stage it looked like the car had collided with the pole.
He said: “Circumstances are unclear but local residents have said those in the car have absconded.
“It is unclear at the minute if there are any injuries.
“This is a busy stretch of road for both vehicles and pedestrians.
“I would ask anyone using the access to high street to follow any diversions in place.”
