Drugs with an estimated street valued of around £160,000 have been seized in Bessbrook.
It came after an operation conducted on Tuesday by the PSNI’s Organised Crime Branch.
Two houses were searched in the Bessbrook area.
Two men, aged 27 and 33, and a 27-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A and B drugs, possession of Class A and B drugs with intent to supply, and possession of criminal property.
Suspected Class A and B drugs with an estimated street value of £160,000, together with a quantity of cash, were recovered.
All three arrested remain in custody.
Commenting on the seizure, Sinn Féin MLA Conor Murphy, said: “This significant seizure of drugs means that lives have been saved.
“It is essential that the PSNI is effective in removing drugs from our streets and also arresting those believed to be involved in the supply trade.
“These people have no regard for the people in their own communities, but instead are fuelled by a selfish desire to make money from others’ addictions.”
Echoing her colleagues sentiments local Councillor Roisin Mulgrew added: “I share the delight of the community that such a huge amount of drugs have been taken off our streets.
“I urge the Police to continue to pursue those who engage in the world of illicit drugs, and ensure they face the full rigours of the law.There should be no hiding place for them.”
