A child is fighting for his life in hospital tonight after being knocked down in a residential area earlier this evening.
The boy was struck by a vehicle at Malcolmson Park in Magheralin.
He was taken to hospital and tonight remains in the Royal Victoriin Belfast, where his condition has been described as “critical”.
Local DUP MLA Carla Lockhart said there was shock in the village after the incident, with police enquiring continuing this evening.
She said her thoughts were with the child and his parents and the driver of the car involved.
The Upper Bann Assembly Member called for people to pray for the boy’s recovery at this time.
Police have not yet released any further details and the age of the child has not yet been revealed.
